The English Center One-Stop

Career Resources & Business Services Center

The English Center One-Stop is a career center specializing in career services for the immigrant and limited English proficient workforce. Multiple languages are spoken on site and the center has signage and support for this unique population.

Supported through Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funding, the One-Stop is affiliated with the Oakland Downtown One-Stop and is part of the East Bay Works System.

It provides full job search and career assistance, access to community services and up-to-date information on the Bay Area’s job market. Services include job search workshops with instruction in job seeking, resume writing and interviewing skills. Resources include job listings, a library of career-related materials, job search videos, information on vocational schools and training, community resources, labor market and employer information, and job search technology. Career Center customers have access to computer stations with word processing capability and Internet access. In addition, there are a fax machine, copy machine and phones for communicating with employers.

The center assists employers in finding employees by posting job opportunities and arranging for on-site hiring interviews by local businesses.
